I also have the older model of this pocket and while it has served me well (and still does on my 701 vest system) the updates made are very helpful. Not only does the updated material make this version easier to clean, it also seems more abrasion-resistant. Additional, with the switch from velcro to the metal clip I can now quickly switch this pocket from my vest to my belt or even put it on the side of my tool tote bag in seconds. As with the previous version, the magnet is very strong and serves me well to hold impact bits while keeping a pica, flashlight and notepad in the pocket portion.
