Beware of this particular hammer holster!!

Almost all of the professional framers that I personally know carry a Stiletto or a Martinez hammer (I have both). This holster will absolutely NOT work with a rubber-gripped hammer. I personally regret buying it. This holster is only compatible with wooden-handled hammers. I’ve tried all the “tricks” that everyone posts online to try and get my hammer to work with this holster and none of them have worked. One guy even said to lube the inside of the holster, which is really dumb considering it’s a rubber-gripped hammer that costs $400.00. If DiamondBack creates a hammer holster for the rubber-gripped hammers, I’ll definitely purchase one. And if anyone reading this knows of a genuine fix for me, please let me know. Cuz until then, I have to figure out a way to carry this hammer; because it takes two hands to push it in to the holster and it takes two hands to get it out of the holster. And not only does it take two hands…it actually takes some time to get it done. Looking for an answer…

Hammer holdster x

I’ve had the holster x for a couple of months and it’s a must have if you wear the tempo belt I use a stilleto hickory 16oz and fits nice on the holdster it just makes working so much easier instead of reaching to your back on a traditional hoop and getting your hammer

needs 2 hands

i have a martinez with rubber , curved handle and i need 2 hands to get my hammer in and out. its very frustrating that my whole belt lifts pulling on it, the rubber sticks, and handle bottom. double whammy so now i use the holster for my pry bar.

Try switch ‘em to the other side

I purchased the right side of the updated X version of the holster, and I gotta say it works great for me on the left pouch. When I first got the holster I attached it to my right pouch. I also felt the pry bar holster got in my way, so I switched it to the other side so that the pouch can hold the pry bar down between towards the hammer. I’m not sure if the opening for the hammer is supposed to be more optimal on the intended side, but it doesn’t seem to be any more difficult to get my hammer in and out.
