I believe the shoulder pads are a necessity if you have the 701 best set up. Especially if you haul a lot of tools & fasteners. It simply does what it’s supposed to do & pretty easy to install/put on. Definitely recommend.

Almost a must have. I figured why not, I'm already invested this far. If they're not great you can always return them. After a week of testing I'm glad I added them in. Definitely helps with getting your shoulders accustomed to the transition from traditional tool belts to a vest rig. The only con for me is I wish there was a way to keep them in place. They ride down a little but that's certainly not a deal breaker. I imagine that would become more of an issue for taller people. Worth the extra expense in my opinion if you're looking for comfort in your setup and really should be included if you ask me because of how much of a difference they make in the process of easing shoulder pain.

I do not take short cuts on things that make my job easier and more efficient and makes me comfortable everyday while doing my job. I believe in what diamondback does and stands for!
